Research Station

Installation, Archive, Workspace, 2010

The Research Station on the top floor of the watchtower at Schlesischer Busch was constructed by Elske Rosenfeld in collaboration with Inken Reinert from abandoned pieces of East German furniture. Over the course of the Watchtower/Ghosts project it served as a space for working – individually and collaboratively – on materials and questions about the experience of 1989/90. It combines a desk/ table with an archive in progress and opens a space for conversation, for working collectively, for an exchange with invited guests during a series of workshops and collaborations and with the visitors of the tower. The Research Station remained in the tower after the end of the programme and continues to be used in its double function of workspace/archive in the programming of the tower by Flutgraben e.V.
