The poster/ flyer was developed as an intervention into the research archive of „Up Till Now. Wiedervorlagen historischer Performances und Aktionskunst aus der DDR”. A conversation and images draw a line from Gabi Stötzer’s photos/performances “Signs/ Body Signs/ Signals” from the 1980ies GDR, via Brazilian artist Lygia Clark’s “Breviary of the Body” (Brazil/Paris, 1970ies) to a work by Elske Rosenfeld and Ingrid Cogne, performed in the same show. Body parts and gestures, in the texts and images, mark a political place on the threshold between their physical and biological constitutedness and the contexts within which they are experienced/ used/ performed. The folding and unfolding of the flyer suggests a choreography of hand gestures of its own.
